Parchment Exchange

Frequently asked questions

Short answers for producers, processors and buyers.

What is Parchment Exchange?

A global coffee marketplace that connects farmers, cooperatives, washing stations, mills and exporters with importers, roasters and traders at every stage, from cherry to cup.

Who can sell coffee here?

Farmers and producers, cooperatives, washing stations and wet mills, dry mills and hullers, exporters and traders. You can list cherry, kiboko, parchment, green or roasted coffee.

Who can buy?

Importers, roasters, traders and exporters anywhere in the world. Buyers can make offers on lots or post a request describing the coffee they want.

How much does it cost?

Joining and listing are free. A small success fee applies only to deals completed through the site; see How it works for the current rate.

Does Parchment Exchange take part in the trade?

No. We are a listing platform. Contracts, payment, shipping and documents are agreed directly between buyer and seller.

How do I stay safe when trading?

Check the seller's verification badge and ratings, ask for samples before large orders, use clear Incoterms and never pay a full amount in advance to someone you don't know. Read the Safety center.

Is two-step login required?

Yes. Every account must set up two-step login (authenticator app today; SMS, WhatsApp and a backup email once connected). We never ask for your password or login code.

Can I ask for a sample first?

Yes. Every lot has a Request a sample button that starts an offer with a sample message to the seller.

What export and import rules apply?

Both sides must follow the laws of their own and the destination country: export licences, certificates of origin, phytosanitary and food-safety rules, customs, EUDR due diligence and sanctions. See our trade compliance checklist.

Which languages are supported?

English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Swahili, Arabic and Chinese. Prices can be shown per pound or per kilogram.

How do I contact support?

Use the WhatsApp or email buttons at the bottom of every page, or write to the support address in the footer.
